Introduction

Energy and Environment-Nepal (E&E-Nepal), a Natural Resources management and Environment conservative non-governmental organization which works through the aid of government, partners and donor organizations. Since its establishment, the organization has dealt on behalf of Environment, renewal energy, community resilience (disaster management, health improvement, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) promotion) emphasizing on sustainable development goals and Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (2015 - 2030) and its practices for the community development and been firmly consistent on its goals.

E&E-Nepal has eighteen years of experience since 2005 A.D on Natural Resources management and its utilization and community resilience under the SDGs and Sendai Framework. Concerning on the current ecological and Environment status of world along with Nepal, the Environmental and ecological parameter indicator are alarming. Global warming and continuously devastation of Natural Resources are two main factors that raises the existence of human as well as living organisms in the near future. E&E-Nepal has been putting its efforts to mitigate the above mentioned factors tirelessly.

E&E-Nepal carries or deals with such an issues which are concerned to Environment and community resilience activities for the welfare of all organisms in the targeted communities. Mostly, it emphasizes and prepares work plan on the Environment and energy, practices of sustainable goals, enhancement of Environment and community quality, public awareness, conservation of forest, wetlands, Greenland, ecosystem, biological diversity, protection of communities from natural as well as man-made disasters.

Vision

E&E-Nepal has taken long term vision based on SDGs and Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (2015-2030) by which will be executed for the achievement of the organization goals and demands. The vision includes the policy and strategy according to the time demand for the upcoming activities and they are given as:

  • Environment and Natural Resources are responsible for the existence of all living things.
  • Our generation will be safe, if we able to conserve Natural Resources and Environment.
  • Alternate sources of energy should be used to put the planet on habitable zone.
  • Understanding disaster risk
  • Strengthening disaster risk governance to be managed disaster risk
  • Investing in disaster risk reduction for resilience
  • Enhancing disaster preparedness for effective response and to "Build Back Better" in recovery, rehabilitation, and reconstruction.

Mission

The organizational goals achieve the mission through varieties of the program and such program will conducted within from the organizational mission. So, this organization has set up the following mission for the success of organization.

  • To establish/strengthen strong cooperation and coordination with the government, non-government organization and stakeholders to initiate community resilience activities such as environmental protection, skills capacity development, disaster risk management, response and recovery; health promotion; and water, sanitation and hygiene promotion.
  • To protect the forests and to keep the Environment on habitable zone by the aid of local people and public awareness.
  • To conduct the program based on renewal energy and it's used exceedingly in the rural and urban area.
  • To develop the modern technology for enhancement of uses of renewal energy and Environment.
  • To increase the vulnerable household's livelihood activities through skills and livelihood promotional activities.
  • To promote energy and Environment research and development resources in appropriate way.
  • To advocate the current Environment and natural issues and disaster risk management in the different platform as a standing agenda and encourage to follow SDGs and Sendai Framework's priorities.
