Disaster Risk Mitigation, Relief & Emergency Response Activities
Rural populations in Nepal have consistently suffered severe effects due to natural disasters such as landslides, fires, seasonal flash floods, and other multi-hazards. Through disaster risk management initiatives, E&E Nepal seeks to protect vulnerable communities from the negative effects of multiple hazards.
E&E Nepal built a small check dam, small-scale disaster risk mitigation measures, and flood and landslide risk mitigation activities in the impacted communities with the help of locals and using local expertise and resources.
The organization also provided the non-food items based on the needs of the impacted families. The project has also built a water cannel to supply water for agricultural use in an effort to increase community livelihood capability. The activities below provide a few peeks of multi-hazard risk mitigation.
