Food Security, Diversified Livelihood and Innovative Agricultural Activities
Through the development of indigenous livelihood skills and practices, organic farming, and ecosystem protection, E&E Nepal is promoting local livelihood activities. In order to improve the women's group's capacity for income creation, the organization works closely with the community members in general. Evidence suggests that women have actively participated in programs promoting food and livelihood security. Beneficiaries have launched their own businesses such goat farming, home stays, organic farming, carpentry, plantations, etc. as a result of training in livelihood skills.
With assistance from UNDP, GEF/SGP, the project has received special funding for seeds, farming equipment, and the construction of cattle sheds.
The glimpses of livelihood and food security activities are as bellow.
